PDP wary of Duke-Abiola moves as deadline looms

Abuja - The ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential election aspirant, Professor Akasoba Duke-Abiola, has until the end of today to Presidential Expression of Interest and Nomination forms.
PDP said it has noted the refusal of Duke-Abiola to collect the documents.
The party also noted that Professor Duke-Abiola willfully refused to collect her Expression of Interest form with Code number PD002/P and serial number 0000003 and Nomination form with Code number PD003/P and serial number 0000003 even after it was sent to her through her lawyers.

“Professor Duke-Abiola’s refusal to collect the forms suggests an ulterior motive. Other aspirants including Dr. Ghalil Tafawa Balewa and President Goodluck Jonathan collected their forms on October 30th 2014 and November 6th 2014 respectively,” National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olisa Metuh said in a statement issued in Abuja.
The party expressed surprise that Professor Duke-Abiola, chose to go to court instead of taking advantage of the extension.
“The aspirant still has until the end of Friday to collect her form and failure to do so PDP will have no option than to consider her as not being interested in the contest, but out to cause confusion and foment trouble in the party.”
