Juve rally to beat Malmo

Malmo - Second-half strikes from Fernando Llorente and Carlos Tevez gave Juventus a gritty 2-0 win over Malmo in their Champions League clash on Tuesday, the Italian side's first away victory in the group stage for two years.
Llorente broke the deadlock four minutes into the second half, latching on to Claudio Marchisio's through ball and charging from the halfway line before rounding Robin Olsen and slotting the ball home.
Tevez netted a late second in the 88th minute to complete their first Champions League away win since they beat Shakhtar Donetsk 1-0 in December 2012.
Malmo had their fair share of chances but failed to find the net and cannot now qualify for the knockout stages.
The win moves Juventus into second place in Group A on nine points, three behind leaders Atletico Madrid, who hammered Olympiakos Piraeus 4-0.
The top two meet in Turin in their final group game on Dec. 9, with Juventus needing a point to ensure qualification.

Reds stay alive in Sofia

Sofia - There was some respite for under-pressure Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers as his side ground out a 2-2 draw away to European minnows Ludogorets in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The result ended a run of four straight defeats in all competitions for the five-time European champions but left them needing to beat Basel at Anfield in their final Group B match in order to qualify for the last 16 of the continent's elite club football tournament.
Liverpool fell behind in the third minute in Sofia but were leading with two minutes to go.
It was anything but plain sailing as Dani Abalo put Ludogorets ahead before Rickie Lambert's equaliser five minutes later, the England striker's first Champions League goal, and another before half-time from Jordan Henderson steadied the visitors' nerves.
However, the truly morale-boosting victory Liverpool craved was denied them when Georgi Terziev levelled in the 88th minute.
"To go a goal behind so early on you really need a team that is together and I think the character of the team came out," Rodgers told Sky Sports.
"We spoke before the game that this needs to be the night to change our season and for that we needed to show the character in our team," the Northern Irish boss added.
"We are disappointed with the goal we conceded in the end but it is irrelevant, we need to beat Basel in the final game.
"This is a real confidence boost for us, because Ludogorets are a really difficult team to play against."
Liverpool, runners-up in the Premier League last season, have struggled badly since the departure of star striker Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
And their season hit a new low on Sunday as they suffered a 3-1 loss away to Crystal Palace, leaving them closer to the relegation zone than the Champions League places.
Fans of the Merseyside club who had made the journey to Bulgaria must have feared the worst when their side, who needed a stoppage-time penalty from captain Steven Gerrard to beat European newcomers Ludogorets at Anfield in September, fell behind to an early goal.
Kolo Toure's poor clearance straight to Marcelino led to a dipping shot which Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet fumbled into the path of Abalo, who swept the ball home.
But, to their credit, Liverpool were soon level with a goal that, like the opener, owed much to the failings of the defending side.
As Ludogorets defenders waited for goalkeeper Vladislav Stoyanov to deal with a Henderson through ball, he stayed on his line and a poor back-header allowed Lambert to nod the loose ball in powerfully from close range.
Then Raheem Sterling's curling ball behind the home defence found Henderson, who hooked his shot in from a narrow angle to make it 2-1 in the 37th minute.
Ludogorets pressed in the second half and they might have had a penalty in the 61st minute when Liverpool's Glen Johnson fouled Mihail Alexandrov but got away with conceding a free-kick.
Four minutes later Henderson's blushes were spared when he blazed over the top from a few yards out after Lambert's header had been blocked as the referee had already awarded Ludogorets a free-kick.
With eight minutes left, Liverpool had a glorious chance to win the game but Sterling, released by Gerrard, shot straight at Stoyanov.
But at just 2-1 up, and given Liverpool's problems in defending set-pieces, a Ludogorets equaliser could not be discounted and it duly arrived when the visitors failed to deal with a near-post corner, allowing Terziev to power in a header.
However, the draw ended the battling Bulgarians' hopes of a place in the last 16.

Ronaldo strike sinks Basel

Basel - Cristiano Ronaldo has scored his 71st Champions League goal as Real Madrid recorded a club record-equalling 15th consecutive win by beating FC Basel 1-0 in Switzerland in the Champions League on Wednesday.

The Portuguese superstar converted a Karim Benzema cutback 10 minutes before half-time at the St Jakob-Park as the reigning European champions, who had already qualified for the last 16, secured first place in Group B with a fifth win in five games.

Ronaldo's goal allowed him to move level with former Madrid striker Raul as the tournament's second-top scorer of all time, three behind Lionel Messi, who broke the record with a hat-trick for Barcelona against APOEL on Tuesday.

And the goal secured their 15th consecutive victory in all competitions, a sequence that began with a 5-1 defeat of Basel at the Santiago Bernabeu in September.

Carlo Ancelotti's men have therefore equalled the record that was set by Miguel Munoz's team in 1960-61 and then matched three seasons ago under Jose Mourinho.

Meanwhile, Basel, who had won their previous two home games, fought admirably with 17-year-old Cameroonian forward Breel Embolo proving a real handful, and despite the defeat they know that a draw with Liverpool at Anfield in a fortnight will take them through to the knockout stage.

Ancelotti gave Keylor Navas his Champions League debut in goal in place of Iker Casillas and handed a start at right-back to Alvaro Arbeloa with Dani Carvajal absent due to illness.

However, James Rodriguez, Gareth Bale, Benzema and Ronaldo all started in attack and it was the latter two who combined to break the deadlock in the 35th minute after a closely-fought opening to the game.

Benzema was the architect with a superb run in from the left to the byline, from where he cut the ball back beyond the reach of goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik for Ronaldo to score.

Ronaldo might have moved another goal closer to equalling Messi's record early in the second period, but his fizzing free-kick was turned around the post by Vaclik.

Bale also crashed a shot off the woodwork but it was not always a comfortable evening for the visitors, with Shkelzen Gashi slicing a shot high and wide for Basel from a great position after fine work by captain Fabian Frei, the shot striking the hand of Sergio Ramos on its way through.

And the exciting Embolo held off Raphael Varane before attempting to round Navas, only for the Costa Rican goalkeeper to narrow the angle well and make a terrific save to turn the ball around the post, but Basel's performance gave them plenty of reason to be optimistic ahead of that crunch trip to Liverpool.

Obama pardons 2 turkeys for thanksgiving

Washington - It is an odd tradition, to be sure. Every year, on the eve of Thanksgiving, the president of the United States "pardons" a turkey at the White House.
For the sixth time, Barack Obama did the job on Wednesday, sparing a bird at a ceremony at which he was joined by his [somewhat underwhelmed] daughters Sasha and Malia, 13 and 16.
The myth behind the tradition is that, after overexposure to the media in Washington once pardoned, the rotund turkey will spend the rest of its happy days lolling around, far from anyone's plate.
But the reality is far less poetic.
Commercially raised turkeys have been bred to be large to feed a crowd -- the massive store-bought birds can barely walk, much less fly.
They can be five times larger than the wild ones still in American forests. Commercial turkeys also have short lifespans.
Of the two turkeys pardoned last year, only one is still on the farm.
"Caramel and his cohort Popcorn arrived at Morven Park in January after spending the holidays at George Washington's Mt Vernon. Unfortunately, Popcorn died of natural causes in July", the Virginia farm where they were living said.

The White House says this year will mark the 67th anniversary of the ceremonial presentation of the turkey.
The national turkey breeders association got it going after World War II. But back then, there was no pardon, just dinner.
Nobody seems to know, however, exactly when the pardoning tradition started.
Some people say it was John F. Kennedy who was the first to spare a turkey in November 1963.
What we do know is that it wasn't until the days of George H W Bush in 1989, that pardoning became an annual part of White House turkey presentations.
North American bird
Quite a bit of Thanksgiving lore intersects with this bird, a species native to North America that was a key food source in colonial times.
Early settlers learned to survive in the New World in part by eating the local staples such as turkey, corn and pumpkin, which they learned about from Native Americans.
People who survived harsh winters, illness and fretting over food back then had plenty for which to be grateful.
Gary Cooper, the chairperson of the National Turkey Federation, raises turkeys in Fort Recovery, Ohio. He brought two big birds, Mac and Cheese, 21 weeks of age for the big day at the White House.
"This is actually the second time. My brother Jim, in 1996, brought them here when President Clinton was here", he told AFP.
"We are the first two brothers in the history of this event to do this, and we are also the only ones from Ohio to ever bring the turkey."
"It just represents another one of the many ways that us Americans celebrate Thanksgiving, and family, and the tradition."
'Strange'
In a carefully choreographed media show, these high-profile birds spent a few nights at the posh Willard Hotel, not far from the White House.
British comedian John Oliver joked on his HBO show: "I am here to discuss perhaps the strangest Thanksgiving tradition: I am talking about turkey pardoning.
"There is something profoundly strange about a president making a show of pardoning one turkey to mark a holiday on which everyone, the president included, consumes an estimated 46 million birds", he said. "The whole thing is so strange."
Animal rights group PETA meanwhile has urged the Obama girls to push the president to take turkey out of the Thanksgiving equation.
On Wednesday, Obama referred to media musings about the pardon tradition, admitting it was "a bit puzzling."
"But I will say that I enjoy it because with all the tough stuff that swirls around in this office, it's nice once in a while just to say: Happy Thanksgiving. And this is a great excuse to do it", he said.
Thanksgiving is celebrated each year on the last Thursday of November.

APC critises devaluation of naira

Abuja - All Progressives Congress (APC) has critised devaluation of naira and described the development as not healthy for Nigeria’s economy.
The National Publicity Secretary of APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, on Wednesday in Abuja told newsmen that the devaluation of currency had its implications on the people and the economy.
“When the currency is devalued, it is the worst thing that can happen to any nation.”
“All it means for a country like ours, which is import dependent, is that more naira will be needed to buy raw materials and machines.”
“It also means that very soon, cost of living will go up,” Mohammed said.

Mohammed said that the party had always warned government about the implication of its economic policies.
He said that the party warned government that the cost of producing oil in Nigeria was the highest and raised alarm on organised theft of crude oil.
“We went further to advise the government to diversify our economy.”
“We equally advised government to spend more of our resources in finding new reserve.”
“We gave example that while Angola and Brazil have reinvested in new deposit to about 40 per cent, Nigeria had only invested about two per cent.”
“These are all the issues that we raised,” he said.

Three arraigned in Enugu for robbery

Enugu - The police in Enugu on Wednesday arraigned three middle-aged men before Justice Catherine Nwobodo for armed robbery and rape.
Malachy Okechukwu, Chigozie Ihesiulo and Chukwuebuka Onyi were accused of robbing Linda Ofozie, James Elom and his wife of N343 000 on February 1, 2010 at No. 5 Orji Street, Ugbo-Ezeji in Abakpa Nike, Enugu.
They were also accused of raping the second victims’ daughter at the scene of the incident.
During Okechukwu’s statement of defence, he told the court that he was arrested for fighting not for armed robbery.
“On February 1, 2010, I was going home after work as a conductor and a group of boys attacked me at Nzekwe Street which was very close to No. 128 College Road, Ugbo-Ezeji where I lived,” he said.

Okechukwu said he came to the police check point to report the incident when a man arrived and told the police that he had been robbed in his house and then the police men asked him to wait behind while they attended to the man.
“After a while, the police men came back with the man and asked me to come and show them where I was robbed. On our way to the place, the Man told the police that he was suspecting me.
“Before I knew it, the man held my cloth which resulted to a fight and the police arrested two of us and took us to their station and locked me up.
“These two people I was charged to court with were the people I met in the cell. I did not know them before.
“I am not an armed robber let alone raping someone’s daughter,” Okechukwu said.
The court adjourned the case after cross-examination of the accused person by the state counsel, Esther Anih, during which the accused said he did not know the man before and did not rob any citizen.
The court adjourned the case till January 29 for continuation of the defence.

Obasanjo blasts Jonathan again

Abuja - Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has once again criticised the President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration for its poor handling of the Boko Haram’s insurgency, reports.

Obansanjo said that the Jonathan’s government would have used a proactive approach to wipe out the group at the very beginning before it became strong.

Obasanjo spoke in Abuja at the launch of the autobiography of a former President of the Court of Appeal and pioneer Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), retired Justice Mustapha Akanbi.

He blamed Jonathan for the slow approach the administration has adopted in tackling the Boko Haram’s insurgency.

Obasanjo’ latest attack on the President is coming seven days after he rated Jonathan’s performance as below average.

"You may cover up here, but before God, there is no cover up!" - Obasanjo Blasts Jonathan Again!

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has again torn at President Goodluck Jonathan, saying Nigerian democracy remained at risk due to the action of the present administration.

Speaking at a book Launch in honour of the pioneer chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, Mustapha Akanbi‎, in Abuja, Mr. Obasanjo, who is the Chairman of the occasion, said the president should stop encouraging ‘verbal violence which may not physically hurt but has ways of degenerating into physical violence’.

Mr. Obasanjo said the greatest indictment against any administration is to be seen trying to destroy opposition of all sort‎s which invariably mean destroying democracy.

“Management of democracy without resorting to brute force and dictatorial tendencies must be cultivated,” the former President said.

“As a leader, you must not deliberately do evil or condone evil. You should know that you will one day give account to God, you may cover up here, but before God, there is no cover up.”

The former president also spoke at lenght on the President’s handling of the Boko Haram insurgency, ‎corruption, the economy and youth unemployment.

On insecurity, Mr. Obasanjo said Boko Haram is not out to “frustrate anyone’s political efforts” and lamented that it took Mr. Jonathan the years to ‎fully understand the menace.

On corruption, Mr. Obasanjo said, “when the head is rotten, the whole body is useless”

On the economy, he said Nigeria would continue to sink deeper and that what Nigerians are told about the state of the economy “is not truly what the economy is”.

“The economy is in doldrums, if not in reverse,” he said.

Mr. Obasanjo’s latest attack on the President is coming seven days after he rated Mr. Jonathan’s performance as below average.

The former president had spoken last weekend in Abeokuta while addressing book writers as part of activities marking the Ake Arts and Book Festival.

“I rate this current administration below average,” Mr. Obasanjo said in response to a question about Mr. Jonathan’s performance.

The former president also said he deserved credit for helping an individual from a minority tribe become Nigeria’s President.

“Rather than take blame for bringing Jonathan to power, I should be taking credit,” he added.

The death of Mazi Moses Okoye, the father of Africa super-star, P Square, was so sudden that those who saw him a few hours before he slumped in the Omole, Ikeja, Lagos home of his sons are still in shock.

EncomiumMagazine reveal that just before the septugenarian’s tragic death, he was clad in only singlet and boxers, watching cable television with some visitors until about 10pm  yesterday (Monday, November 24, 2014) when he disengaged to his bedroom where he suddenly collapsed.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but he unfortunately gave up before doctors attended to him.

The Jos (Plateau state)-based Pa Okoye, who left Jos for Lagos some two weeks ago for a knee surgery, normally had respiratory (breathing) issues, which many believe might have led to his death.
He had an appointment with his doctor today (Tuesday, November 25, 2014) over his recent knee surgery.

Before his death, he had sat upon a thriving ‘pure water’ and bakery business in Jos.

'Why We’re still Probing Bishop David Oyedepo'– UK Govt.

The British government, through its Charity Commission, has said it is still considering the financial information the Living Faith Church International popularly known as Winners Chapel belonging to the popular pentecostal clergyman, David Oyedepo.

The CC is responsible for registering eligible organisations in England and Wales which are established for only charitable purposes, taking enforcement action when there is malpractice or misconduct and ensuring charities meet their legal requirements. It also provides information on their activities each year, making appropriate information about each registered charity widely available, providing online services and guidance to help charities run as effectively as possible.

Responding to an email enquiry by SUNDAYPUNCH, the commission’s spokeswoman, Sarah Hitchings, told our correspondent that the consideration of the church’s finances by the British government did not qualify as conducting an investigation on the church.

Hitchings said, "We are not ‘investigating’ the charity. In the terms of our regulatory work, an ‘investigation’ is another word for ‘statutory inquiry’, the highest level of our investigatory work.

"We are not investigating Winners Chapel; we have an operational case open into the charity."

According to her, following concerns raised from some quarters in the United Kingdom about Winners Chapel London (charity number 1134421), the commission has been reviewing a number of issues including conflicts of interest, concerns about the reputation management of the church and its financial management.

"It has taken some time for the review to scrutinise the information available to determine the extent of any regulatory concerns.
"We have now met with the trustees, and are satisfied that we have no regulatory concerns relating to conflicts of interest and the reputation management of the charity. We are still considering financial information supplied by the charity to reach a conclusion on the issue of financial management,” the spokeswoman stated.

"At this stage, we cannot comment on the details of the case; however, it is our usual policy to report on the outcomes of our work once we have reached a conclusion. Please note, we are not ‘investigating’ the charity."

In a related development, the British agency in its inquiry reports made available on its website also accused the Redeemed Christian Church of God’s New Life Assembly (House of Prayer for All Nations), with charity number 1084582, of failing to submit to the commission annual accounts and reports and annual returns required for the financial years ending December 31, 2011 and December 31, 2012 until later this year.

The report noted, "The Charity was sent various computer generated reminders from the Commission regarding the submission of their annual accounting documents. In addition, the Commission attempted to contact the Charity by telephone on 10 April 2014. Further to this the Commission wrote to the Charity with a final warning on 10 April 2014 requesting that the missing documents be provided by 3 May 2014.

"During the Inquiry the Charity filed the missing annual accounts and reports and annual returns. The annual accounts and reports and annual return for the financial year ending 31 December 2011 were submitted on 8 August 2014, together with the annual report for the financial year ending 31 December 2012. The accounts for the financial year ending 31 December 2012 were submitted on 26 August 2014."

The Power of Patience

powerofpatience
“Patience is power. Patience is not an absence of action; rather it is “timing” it waits on the right time to act, for the right principles and in the right way.” -Fulton J. Sheen
Patience is the strength of a man with purpose. He does not fear of being drawn away from his dreams because he knows that achieving them is only a matter of time. He is neither worrisome nor quick tempered. He knows that these things will only hinder him from reaching his heart’s true desires.
Rather than be troubled, he waits patiently for the right time. He saves his strength for the right moment. He inspires himself each day so he won’t give up just when he is about to reach his dreams.
He works without grumbling, but cheerfully while perfecting his skills. He doesn’t give in to temptations to take a quick route or a quick fix when such things will yield only temporary results.
Patience guides us to the right path and takes us away from thieves that take away the harvest we desire to reap.
“Put it in writing, because it is not yet time for it to come true. But the time is coming quickly, and what I show you will come true. It may seem slow in coming, but wait for it; it will certainly take place, and it will not be delayed.” – Habakkuk 2:3, GNT

'Why we use a lot Of Juju in Yoruba Movies!' Actor, Dele Odule finally Explains the issue between him&late Actress, Bisi Komolafe!

The Popular Nigerian actor had a chat with SaturdayBeats and spoke extensively on his career, family, many children, wife, beef with fellow Yoruba actors, affair with the late Bisi Komolafe and more, enjoy:

Yoruba movies have a large followership but a lot of the fans have issues with the bad grammar they see in their subtitles to English. Doesn’t it embarrass you when you see the movie you featured in with such horrible grammar?

We do feel embarrassed because we’re supposed to be the mirror of the society. But it’s not peculiar to the industry alone; it’s a general phenomenon. Even in another industry that has absolutely nothing to do with theatre, you will find laxities and flaws. We have a Standards Organisation of Nigeria, but it’s not doing what it’s supposed to be doing. It’s the bitter truth. Some people can just cut corners, the body overlooks them. We have a censors board; any production coming out in this country passes through the board. They should be saying, ‘this is not grammatically correct, you are not influencing the children positively with this kind of grammar.’ But there is nothing like that and theatre is all about entertainment, information and education. Now that they have decided to close their eyes, who is to be blamed? That is what they are supposed to do. I cannot condemn your production, it will amount to something else. I’m not an authority, so I don’t have the right to say that your production is not good. People don’t know that standard has to do with quality and we don’t have that because we have allowed mediocrity in the practice of theatre arts and film production.

A lot of people also complain that many Yoruba movies in the market lack creativity and are always about ‘juju’, can’t we have better movies?

I have just said it all that the organisations in charge of maintaining standard are not doing their job. Even politics, are we doing it rightly? It’s about business. People now believe that when you have huge amount of money in your account, you can go into politics because you will make more. But it’s not supposed to be so. So it’s not peculiar to the movie industry. My conclusion is that nothing works effectively in Nigeria.

But why are you a controversial person?

I don’t know your definition of controversy. If you enlighten me more and tell me what you think is controversial about my life, maybe I would be able to explain.
A veteran actor, Chief Lere Paimo, once accused you of not having enough respect for elders, it is said that you also have issues with Yinka Quadri and had an altercation with the late Bisi Komolafe on set.
For Chief Paimo, I’ve known Baba for over 20 years. I think he started saying that Odule wasn’t respectful to elders after I decided to contest for the post of the President of Association of Nigeria Theatre Arts Practitioners in 2009. If you calculate 2009 till date, it’s around five years. If you remove five from 20, that should be 15 years. That means I had been good enough for him in 15 years. If for 15 years, I was respectful and for five years, I was not respectful, then something is wrong. I don’t want to say more than that.

What about the issue involving Qadri and the late Komolafe?

I actually don’t have problem with the two of them. Yoruba people will say it’s not good to talk ill about the dead. That lady was a much younger colleague to me; in fact, I’m old enough to be her father, so I don’t want to talk about it. The fact remains that I never fought her for one day. All those things on the social media, I don’t know how they came about them. But there is no rumour without an iota of truth. What happened was purely politics. I’m an elder in the association and these young ones are not doing those things that they should be doing. For instance, you are a journalist and there is the Nigerian Union of Journalists, which should protect the ethics and constitution of the profession. If you are not doing it rightly, I want to believe that an elderly person there can tell you that. So if what I did by telling the late Komolafe that she had not done something rightly metamorphosed into a controversy, then it’s too bad. I don’t have any quarrel with Quadri, but I don’t know whether he and the lady had anything together. If that was why the issue transferred to him, I don’t know. But I know that I’ve never had any quarrel with Yinka Quadri.

We heard that Chief Paimo’s grudge was that Jide Kosoko was trying to impose you as the association’s president. Is that the case?

Let us get this right, even if Kosoko is interested in Dele Odule, is it a sin? Have you ever heard Jide Kosoko said there must be no election? If the man working for me believes that I can steer the ship of the association, it is not a sin. But I’ve never heard anyone say that Kosoko said Odule should not contest an election, and that is where people are getting it wrong. But he has every right to support me. If truly he is interested in Odule because he believes that Odule can do it and now said, ‘Ok I want you people to follow Odule,’ does that mean that he has said that there must not be an election? That’s why we are fighting. So it’s not about Kosoko wanting to impose or not. That’s just sentiment.

So what is the latest on the issue?

After the declaration of (Victor) Ashaolu on January 30, 2014 that the election was actually held, it was a kangaroo one but the judge said there was an election and that Ashaolu should continue as the president. The people who felt there was no election opted out and formed another association. That association is named Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria. If you feel you are uncomfortable with a particular church, you can opt out and go to another one. There is freedom of association, religion and so on.

What is your relationship with Chief Paimo and Quadri now?

I’m very cordial with everybody. Let me tell you, I’m a very practical person. If you call me, I will call you. If you don’t call me, I don’t call you. That’s just me. I don’t hold any grudge against anybody and I don’t think they have against me. But if they have, may God forgive them. Baba Lere Paimo has been my father. If I choose today that I don’t want him to be my father, it’s personal. If I expect my father to act in a certain way and he doesn’t, I can go on my own now. But I don’t have any grudge against anyone. I’m a Christian, I may not be religious but I’m godly. I don’t keep malice or hate people. If you like me, I like you. If you don’t like me, I go on my own.

How do you cope with your female fans?

I cope with them; they are the salt of life. They support us a lot. Even if you go to church, you find that women make up the large number of the congregation. So if the pastor cannot cope, the church will go into oblivion. Same thing applies to the industry. If the pastor fails to identify with the women, I can bet you that the church will not get to the level he wants. So there is no way an actor can run away from the same philosophy. So you can’t just rubbish women. But when it comes to how I cope, I cope effectively. I’m mature. When I was younger, youthful exuberance would have been there but now I’m getting old, so I cope. It’s all about stages. Now I’m above 50 so definitely, it’s different from the way I’ve been behaving. I know how to handle both s*xes.

We hear that your female fans are so much in love with you that some of them just want to have children for you. Is that true?

That is not true. They are in love with others, so it’s not me alone. I have over 1000 female fans and admirers and I don’t have up to 1000 children. How come people are now saying that my female fans want to bear me children? I don’t even have 100 children, so one-tenth of them don’t even have children for me. But because we are public figures, there are a lot of things that we pay for. They are prices we pay for stardom. You have just met my wife. She’s a lawyer with about 15 years experience and we have been together for 25 years but not too many people actually know that. Not many people also know that I’m a graduate of mass communication. I got it recently. I also have a diploma in Theatre Arts from UI. It’s just purely a result of my passion for education and that has enhanced my academic pursuit. When I started relationship with my wife, she was just a school certificate holder, but today, she is the Chief Public Defender with the Department of Citizens’ Rights, Ogun State Ministry of Justice. My passion for education has earned me that and I had my fifth child in the university. Anytime I have the opportunity, I go back to school to update my knowledge. I’m running my Master’s degree programme already.

You may not have 100 children but we hear you have about 10 children from different women?

That is not peculiar to an actor alone. Muslims do have a lot of children. Former Head of State, late (Sani) Abacha, had many children and he was not an actor. MKO Abiola also had (many children). Sunny Ade (musician) also. The Bible says ‘stone that person to death, provided you have not also sinned.’ That is to say we all have one skeleton or the other in our cupboards. It’s just because I’m a public figure that people are privileged to know about my life and my privacy.

Prophet T.B Joshua Threatened with Arrest After Failing To Appear In Court for second time

TB Joshua failed to show up in court For the second time, after being summoned by the coroner, to testify regarding the synagogue building collapse which killed 116.The coroner Oyetade Komolafe, has threatened to order his arrest after failing to show up on November 5 and 19.He said
“We don’t want the impression to be created that The Prophet is avoiding the court,Any of the witnesses who is not in court today will be arrested. I think the court has been lenient enough.”
However,Joshua's lawyer,Olalekan Ojo, told reporters after the hearing:
“We have gone to the high court to challenge the jurisdiction of the coroner to issue a witness summons. The coroner has unconsciously exceeded his jurisdiction in that he has started inquiring into matters that are not causative of deaths. The Prophet has respect for the law of the land and will not do anything that will hurt the law,If at the end of the day, it is appropriate for The Prophet to appear he will be in court. We do not intend to abuse the legal process.Besides, The Prophet has a milk of human kindness. He is still grieving over the horrendous loss of lives. Coming to court is not proper. It is not a good way of showing respect for the dead.”
