Dud cheque issuance case continues in Abuja

Lagos - A man has appeared at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja for allegedly issuing a dud cheque in a car deal.
Collins Masadey and his company, Coomy Automobiles Limited, have been arraigned before Justice Salisu Garba on one-count charge bordering on issuance of dud cheque.
The accused is alleged to have received the sum of N10 million from Hybridge Technical Company Limited Abuja for the supply of motor vehicles.
Only one vehicle was supplied leaving a balance of N7,2 million.

It is said after much pressure to refund the balance, the accused issued a cheque for the sum of N5,2 million, which bounced on presentation owing to insufficient funds.
The alleged offence occured in 2010.
The accused pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to him.
Justice Garba adjourned the case to next Monday for ruling on the bail application and ordered that the accused be remanded in prison custody.
